Climbing Safety Gear
Most people consider rock climbing an extreme sport, meaning it entails a lot of risks. Nevertheless, the sport draws a lot of enthusiasts. Rocking climbing gear has to pass stringent quality controls and checks.
A serious rock climber will always have safety on top of his priorities.
Climbing enthusiasts may have all the latest gear, but the most basic equipment remains the same. A rock climber must always have the following gears: rope, harness helmet and rock climbing shoes.
There are different types of harnesses for outdoor or indoor use, as is the case of a wall climbing activity. There are also types for kids and adults.
Climbing Shoes
There are various types of foot wear for this particular sport.
They are also comfortable for using in long hours in this activity.
They come with a stiff sole that makes them wade through cracks in the rock with much ease as compared to others.
When choosing a pair of foot wear, it is okay to choose from your gym collection as these too are suitable for the activity
Climbing Walls
In general terms, a rock climbing wall is a unique creation that is used as a substitute for the natural ones by people who cannot frequent the outdoor activities. They are conveniently located for passionate people in the city centers.
The idea of rock climbing wall was first heard of in the United Kingdom and was first constructed by Don Robinson who was a lecturer in Physical Education. He is also famous for being the founder of DR climbing walls.
In these places they will normally be simple equipment made of plywood and will be held to a solid structure by use of screws and bolts.
These structures will also have grips normally made from various colors. The difference in color is a unique way of indicating the different routes to be followed. The artificial equipment used for this sport is a good thing for those learning the spot. When on construction the first people to use this unique equipment are given a chance to determine the difficulty in the sport.
